Looking in from the outside, the F1 W07 Hybrid is extremely similar to its predecessor. Its development lies – as it did last year – in its details. "It's difficult to aim for a huge revolution when the rules stay the same year after year," explained Paddy Lowe, Executive Director (Technical). Squeezing even more performance out of an already very strong power unit and chassis design is no easy task, added Wolff. "But as a group of competition-driven racers this is the sort of challenge that we like – finding that last little bit of performance." And success seems likely: under the bonnet of the W07 there are "quite a few mini revolutions which add up to a total evolution for the new season," revealed Lowe.
